1972 Escort RS1600 BDE 1790cc 245BHPTo the un-initiated, The “in-game” RS2000 is actually a ’73 to ’76 spec RS1600 with a Cosworth BDG alloy block bored to 1975cc to produce it’s 285 HP. Whilst it is a lot of fun….I had found the “RS2000″ to be a bit edgy.
What I have made here is a 1972 spec RS1600, utilising the Cosworth BDE 1790cc to produce 245HP. These cars still used the older cast iron blocks.
The slight drop in HP is kind to the grip level & slide-ability of the little esky. You will find your lap times will near match those of the “RS2000″ on short to mid-length tracks, but you may find your overall race pace may be quicker. If nothing else it may prove to be a good trainer.

1968 Ford Escort FVA (Twincam)Back in 1968, the BSCC & ETCC ran to Gp5 spec allowing the newly released Ford Escort liberal use of Ford’s spare parts bin (& still badge it as a “twincam”)
The FVA Cosworth engine was used primarily for Formula 2 cars, but was adapted to some saloon cars, lightweight panels & modified suspension (out with those leaf springs) were also homologated to run.
The FVA was notable for being part of the same Ford contract that gave rise to the DFV; the engine that would power most of the F1 field of the 70’s. The cylinder head on the FVA pioneered many of Duckworth’s ideas that would be used on the V8 engine.
Some Specs: 225 bhp @ 9000 rpm – 139ft/lbs @ 8000 rpm FVA, 760kg weight, GTC-65 classic-esque spec rubber
