Dopo svariati mesi di silenzio, riprende il lavoro di sviluppo della prossima patch per Live for Speed. Ancora non è disponibile la Volkswagen Scirocco (dove nei mesi scorsi si è pure dubitato che venisse mai rilasciata). Nel dettaglio le modifiche sono queste:

New message from host replaces "Did not receive guest info"
Progress indicator for skin downloads while joining a host
Improved order of sort by version number in List of Hosts
Unlock screen clear button to remove name and password
Direction to turn is shown when leaving pit garage
Blue and yellow flags removed from cruise mode
Removed Español Latino translation
FIX : LFS could crash when many cars were in view (e.g. during MPR)
FIX : Vista 64 power save switched off monitor in full screen mode
FIX : No response in List of Hosts after failing to join a host
FIX : Lightmap (lighting on cars) was positioned inaccurately
FIX : Follower view angle setting changed when LFS restarted
FIX : Closing X connects (message in List of Hosts screen)
FIX : Shine on wheels flickered while editing wheel colour
FIX : ABS now works in reverse

Prosegue il frenetico susseguirsi delle test patch per Live for Speed, che sappiamo giungere in conclusione il prossimo anno con l’atteso rilascio della vettura Volkswagen Scirocco. Si raccomanda il backup dell’eseguibile prima di installare questa, che è bene ricordarlo, è una TEST patch, ovvero una patch che ha lo scopo di verificare le novità e fissare i bachi, quindi adatta ad un pubblico che sa quello che fa ed aiuta i programmatori con le opportune segnalazioni.

FIX : Online statistics were not sent to LFS World
FIX : Random FZ5 setups were saved to the setups folder

La web-agency RadicaDesign ha realizzato una bellissima skin della Formula BMW per Simracing.biz. Da questo link potrete trovare il link dove prelevare (poco meno di 600kByte) la “nostra” vettura. Ovviamente non possiamo che esserne orgogliosi e ringraziare la Radica Design :)

Nella giornata di oggi sono uscite due versioni TEST di Live for Speed, rispettivamente la Z6 e la Z7. Si raccomanda di salvare l’eseguibile LFS.exe per mantenere comunque la versione Z in caso di problemi.

Changes in TEST PATCH Z7 :

InSim : Traction Control and ABS are now reported in IS_NPL packet
FIX : Setup related multiplayer OOS bugs affecting test patch users
ATTEMPTED FIX : Flickering shadow outline on some graphics drivers

KNOWN ISSUES :

Insomma non era la notizia che avrei voluto dare, la VW Scirocco per Live for speed strombazzata qualche giorno fa è stata rimandata a data da destinarsi nell’inizio del 2009. Nel contempo sono iniziati i consueti aggiornamenti con le test patch della serie Z che sfoceranno in una stable patch. Ovviamente queste test patch non contengono la Volkswagen Scirocco

Changes in TEST PATCH Z5 :

New language included : Español Latino (still need to add a flag)
FIX : Crash on closing LFS from multiplayer while tyres displayed
Probable fix for shadow stretching bug on some graphics cards
Possible fix for an apparently random crash in D3D8.dll

Changes in TEST PATCH Z4 :

Attempted fix for polygon errors seen on some graphics cards
FIX : It was impossible to join an online race with a demo car

Changes in TEST PATCH Z3 :

Updated wheels on Formula BMW
Implemented ABS brakes in XFG / XRG / RB4 / FXO / XRT / FZ5
Improved wheel drawing system including rotating brake discs
Improved shadows – sharper and ambient shadow effect now included
InSim : New packets to start / search replays and take screenshots
FIX : Player name was wrong in entry screen on entry or after replay
FIX : Added checks to prevent guests joining with no user name or ID
FIX : OOS starting race after joining autocross host in entry screen

La notizia era nota da parecchio tempo, visto che compariva tra le news di Live For Speed da un mesetto o due, ma oggi sappiamo con certezza che il 19 dicembre potremo provare questa vettura aggiuntiva che rivitalizzerà la folta community di LFS.
